EVENT: PROFESSIONAL DANCERS MERGE CENTURY OLD STORY WITH A MODERN AND CULTURAL TWIST IN ‘THE TALES OF THE ARABIAN NIGHTS’

AKRON, OHIO- Pointe West Performances (PWP), a 501(c) non-profit organization, is proud to present a full-length production of The Tales of the Arabian Nights directed by Suzanne Winland. The performance will be held on June 27th at 7:00pm at the Akron Summit County Public Library in the main auditorium. As a gift to the community, tickets are free.

PWP is a production organization which fuels professional dance company Pointillism Jazz Consort and outreach program The Infinite Legacy Project (ILP). Collaboratively, Pointillism and the ILP produce free annual community performances that include a synergistic blend of dancing, acting, singing, and music. Performers in “The Tales of the Arabian Nights,” this summer’s ILP production, tell the century-old Middle Eastern folk tale with a creative infusion of modern elements. This story within a story includes tales of the The Rubaiyat, The Fisherman & The Genie, and Aladdin & His Wonderful Lamp.

Join the dancers for a pre-show performance at 6:00pm in the Amphitheatre on the Main Street side of the library. Hema Ramachandran & Dancers and the Infinite Legacy Project Demonstrator Dancers will be orchestrating a “World Dance Flash Happening”. The dancers welcome the audience to learn the dance steps found on the blog site, https://pointewestdance.wordpress.com/2012/06/14/69/ prior to attending.
