Success! ‘Tales of the Arabian Nights’ Performance Brings the Audience to Their Feet!

Pointe West Performances is pleased to have produced a successful performance of “Tales of the Arabian Nights” last week at the Akron Summit County Public Library.  Truly a cultural collaboration, the show began with a world dance flash happening presented by Hema Ramachandran and her dancers. They performed the Bharathanatyam (Indian Classical Dance) where the audience learned the language of hand gestures and facial expressions behind the dance form.  “Tales of the Arabian Nights” began and Pointillism members danced alongside ILP members in a modernized version of this century old story.  Performers told the tales of The Rubaiyat, The Fisherman and The Genie, and Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp.  Nearly every audience member was on their feet dancing with the performers during the audience participation portion of the show.  It was an inspiring collaboration between Pointillism, the ILP, Mini Company Members, Akron After School Demonstrators, the families, and special guest artists.

To Everyone Involved: We can’t thank you enough for your time, energy, and love!  Gratefully, PWP Staff
